A wedding at Athenaeum

One of the main reasons I love creating caricatures, is that each and everyone of them is different. I have had requests to create fun caricatures incorporating farm animals to farm machinery, cars to airplanes, chefs to golfers and footballers to an almost naked man. 😉 The more details I get about the person whose receiving the gift of a caricature, the more I can make it personal to them and I love that.

Meet Krisztina and Wayne, they got married in May 2014 in the Athenaeum House Hotel Waterford and one of their wedding guests gave them a gift of a Caricatures by Carmel Guest Signing Board.  Not only did I receive an email with great quality photographs of Krisztina and Wayne, that were perfect to work from but I was also provided with other great details, like the style of the brides wedding dress, colour of the bridesmaids dresses and what the bride was wearing in her hair.

Krisztina and Wayne met while working at Athenaeum House Hotel where Wayne is a chef and Krisztina was a waitress.  I created the caricature with Wayne holding a hotel menu in one hand and a frying pan with two eggs in the shape of a heart in the other. He’s sporting a Waterford tie and a lilac flower to coordinate with the bridesmaids colours.

Krisztina is holding a tray with two glasses of champaign in one hand and a bouquet of lilac flowers with a ribbon in the colours of the Hungary flag (where she is from) in her other hand. Sitting tall between them with a lilac bow, is their pet cat which I was told they adore. The yellow exterior of the Athenaeum House Hotel creates a wonderful bright contrasting background.
