We all love a good wedding don’t we and there is nothing like a family one! A great excuse for friends and family abroad to come home, eat, drink and be merry with their loved ones. It’s better than a funeral too.

We had the pleasure of a family wedding recently and I have to say, it was one of the best one’s I have been to in a long time.

The theme was vintage with a touch of 1930’s style. The groom and groomsmen in blue suits with dickie bows, the bridesmaids in beautiful blush long dresses and vintage up styles and the beautiful bride in a classic halter neck style dress with a simple double bow feature and if I may add, ‘FAB’ hair (note the picture below.)

A lot of thought was put into lovely details to make the wedding day extra special. From the church decoration of baby breath flowers and framed photo’s of the happy couple on the alternative pews, a vintage style bike, a flower archway and lanterns outside; to the vintage tea cups filled with macaroons and the yummy Bride & Groom fudge cake pop favors at the reception. It was all so tastefully done. The fashion and style was fabulous too, a lot of orange, red, blue and pink dresses and jump suits and the men weren’t too bad either.

What really made the wedding (I think) was the band. I think it’s so important to pay that bit extra and book a good band. I have been to quite a few weddings where a cheap band fail to create any atmosphere or excitement on the dance floor and the whole occasion falls flat. The minute this band started playing, the flat shoes were on and everyone was up on the dance floor making all sorts of shapes. Great way to work off a four course meal and drinks 😉

Looking forward to the next one already 🙂
