Caricatures make unique and funny invitations, not only for weddings but for birthday’s, anniversaries, corporate events and many other celebrations too. A caricature is designed and used to create a guest signing board and complimentary stationery; such as invitations, RSVP cards, Thank You cards, booklets, menu’s, place cards, letter headed paper, complimentary slips and postcards.
Earlier this year, I was requested to design a caricature for a bride and groom getting married in County Waterford. They wanted to use the caricature on wedding invitations and a guest signing board. The groom is a Kilkenny man and operates heavy machinery like JCB’s. The bride is a proud Waterford girl and they have a lovely son.
The caricature was created with the groom driving a JCB, wearing his wedding suit with a Hi-vis jacket over it. I placed the bride casually sitting in the scoop of the JCB bucket with a glass of champagne and their son proudly sporting a half Kilkenny and half Waterford GAA jersey waving his hurley. Across the front of the JCB I thought it would be fun to hang some bunting that said ‘Getting Wed’.

This caricature design was used on all the wedding day stationery; day invitations, evening invitations and the RSVP cards.

The same caricature design was then used for the guest signing board with one slight change, I changed the bunting on the front of the JCB to read ‘Just Married’

After all the celebrations and honeymoon, the bride left a lovely review on my Facebook page which read ….
